Never mind… What I found fascinating is that this little-known list can arm a canny marketer with very powerful information. Information that can help you have more relevant conversations on- and offline with prospective clients.
In case you didn’t know, each year Google produces a Zeitgeist list, of the most common online searches of the year. I was particularly interested in 2010 but I think the list goes back a number of years.
What was on people’s minds in 2010?
What where they searching for online?
What music were people singing and dancing to?
What TV programs captured their interest?
Zeitgeist captures the spirit of 2010 and provides some interesting insights…
Quoting a Google spokeswoman: “Zeitgeist’ means spirit of the times’ and that is what these lists show, a snapshot of what the community is looking to get more information on. It is like a barometer of what captivated us throughout 2010 and debt was a big issue.”
